Can’t find the motivation? Try this.
In Power vs Force by David Hawkins, he shares a study where performance was improved when the athlete thought about how they were competing for the benefit of others, and not just themselves. An Olympian who believes that she is trying to win for her country and her teammates instead of just for herself. A soccer player who is playing for more than his own ego. They tend to do better, have more stamina, and are less likely to choke in those crucial moments. Their level of consciousness is elevated according to Hawkins’ map of consciousness, leading to better performance.
A level-up in consciousness can also occur when you’re in a group of high frequency people. This is why people flock to meet spiritual masters, and why an in-person concert will always outdo one online. When you meditate as a group, the energy is brought up to the highest frequency person in the room. You can do more challenging meditations more easily when you can access that extra energy. And you can access even more motivation and stamina when you realize that you can help the person in the room who is struggling that day by doing your very best. It’s a surprising way to increase personal motivation but it works. The next time you’re slowly jogging up a hilly trail, or cursing the meditation that has your arms up in the air for 22 minutes or even just stuck in an endless Zoom meeting, remember that you are more than an individual. Dig deep into what motivates you, or even think of someone that you love and you will hit a well of untapped energy to keep you going.
Let me know if you try this trick!
